Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Farm Manager website at farmmanager.co.za, our farm management application, calculators and related services (together, the “Service”), operated by Farm Manager (“we”, “us”, “our”).

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.

The Service

Farm Manager provides livestock and farm management tools for South African farmers, including records, reports, dashboards and planning calculators. Features may change over time, especially during beta testing. We may add, modify or remove features without prior notice.

Calculator results are estimates only

All calculator outputs, projections, margins, costs, feed rates, growth assumptions and similar results displayed through the Service are estimates and planning aids only. They are based on the information you enter and on simplified models that cannot account for every real-world variable.

Calculator results are not instructions, recommendations or guarantees. You must verify figures independently before making operational, purchasing, feeding or financial decisions.

Your responsibility for farm decisions

You remain solely responsible for all farm, feeding, animal health, production, commercial and financial decisions you make. This includes decisions relating to livestock purchases and sales, feed programmes, supplements, medication, stocking rates, budgeting, record-keeping and compliance with applicable laws and industry standards.

You are responsible for the accuracy of data you enter into the Service and for maintaining appropriate backups of information that matters to your operation.

No guarantee of accuracy or profit

The Service is provided for general information and farm management support. We do not guarantee that any content, calculation, report or feature is accurate, complete, current or suitable for your particular farm, market, animals or circumstances.

We make no guarantee of profit, productivity, animal performance, cost savings or business outcomes arising from use of the Service. Actual results depend on many factors outside our control, including weather, animal health, feed quality, market prices, management practices and local conditions.

Not professional advice

Farm Manager is not a substitute for qualified professional advice. Nothing in the Service constitutes veterinary, nutritional, agricultural extension, accounting, tax, financial or legal advice.

You should consult an appropriate professional when you need advice on animal health, feeding programmes, financial reporting, tax, contracts or legal compliance. Do not delay seeking professional help because of something you read or calculate in the Service.

Accounts and access

Some features require an account. You must provide accurate registration information and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.

During beta, access may be limited to invited users. We may verify invites, restrict sign-up and change access requirements at any time.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent or harmful purpose;
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, systems or data;
• interfere with or disrupt the Service, including by introducing malware or excessive automated requests;
• copy, scrape, reverse engineer or resell the Service except as permitted by law;
• upload or transmit content that infringes rights, is defamatory, misleading or otherwise objectionable;
• misrepresent your identity or affiliation; or
• use the Service in a way that could harm Farm Manager, other users or third parties.

We may investigate suspected violations and cooperate with law enforcement where required.

Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, branding, text, graphics, calculators, layouts and documentation, is owned by Farm Manager or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to access and use the Service for your own lawful farm management purposes, subject to these Terms. You do not acquire any ownership rights in the Service.

You retain ownership of the farm data you enter. You grant us the rights reasonably necessary to host, store, process and display that data solely to provide and improve the Service.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by South African law, the Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Farm Manager and its operators, suppliers and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, livestock, production, data, goodwill or business opportunity arising from or related to your use of the Service.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service will be limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve (12) months before the claim arose, or ZAR 500.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for fraud or wilful misconduct.

Account suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, misused the Service, created risk for us or other users, or where required by law.

You may stop using the Service at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability and governing law — will continue to apply.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of the Service after updated Terms take effect means you accept the revised Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. You agree that the courts of South Africa have jurisdiction over disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service, subject to any mandatory rights you may have under applicable consumer protection law.
